Detailed help articles are included with the software; for dealing with special cases, for using maps and plans, and for using the free GIS supplied, or even with other GIS systems.

Reports can be produced and shared in a range of formats, with documents easily emailed direct from the case, and any images or documents received can also be saved into each file.

Scribe Cemetery supports multiple cemetery sites and types, including areas set aside for different faiths, types of burial, areas for infants, cremations, natural burial grounds, and private as well as local authority cemeteries.

To provide for councils where full GIS would not be cost-effective, free software for Scribe Cemetery has been sourced on behalf of customers, and is included with the installation package.

    Scribe Cemetery enables you to:

    Manage your registers

    • Maintain registers of burials, exclusive rights of burial, and memorials.
    • Record detailed grave information, including depths of burials, positions of multiple burials, remaining capacity.
    • Keep separate registers for multiple burial grounds, and for separate areas set aside for specific purposes e.g. faith areas, children’s graves or cremated remains.
    • Produce register reports from each register, for any or all areas; filter by types, ages, agents; and order by names, dates, grave numbers etc.
    • Quick entry functions for historic data to capture only the key required details in any of the registers.

    Administer burial ground functions

    • Print instructions to grave diggers, certificate of burial, memorial permits etc; add any special instructions.

    • Copy details from existing entry, e.g. to create an exclusive right following a funeral; create transfers of exclusive rights; or disinterment/re-interment records. Quick entry function for speedy capture of the essential details in historical registers.
    • Produce management reports showing grave use, memorial condition, grave capacities, expiring rights, etc.

    Search within your registers

    Easily produce documents

Multiple standard letters, formal notices, and deeds can be produced from the application using your own text. For example instructions to gravediggers, invoices, grants of rights, memorial permits, notices regarding remedial action. Emails and attachments can be sent from the case record.
